The Plum Borough School District Technology Department uses Zoho to provide remote assistance when staff experience technical issues.
The instructions below explain how to check for Zoho, install it if needed, and enable screen recording permissions on your district MacBook.
These installation and permission instructions apply to district-managed MacBooks. Staff using Windows computers should contact PBSD Technology Support if Zoho needs to be installed or configured.
Step 1: Check Whether Zoho Is Installed
- Look at the menu bar along the top of your MacBook screen.
- Locate the Zoho icon.
- If the icon is present, continue to Step 2 to verify permissions.
- If the icon is missing, skip to Step 3 to install Zoho.

Step 2: Enable Screen Recording Permissions
Zoho requires screen recording permission to allow PBSD Technology Support to view your screen during remote assistance.
- Click the Apple menu in the upper-left corner.
- Open System Settings.
- Select Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down and select Screen & System Audio Recording.
- Locate Zoho in the list.
- Ensure the toggle next to Zoho is enabled (blue).
Only enable permissions for the district-approved Zoho application. If macOS requests that you restart Zoho after changing permissions, follow the on-screen instructions.
Enabling screen recording permission allows Zoho to request access to screen content; it does not mean that a technician is currently viewing your screen.
Step 3: Install Zoho If It Is Missing
If Zoho is not installed on your district MacBook, use Mosyle Manager to install it.
- Click the Spotlight Search magnifying glass in the Mac menu bar.
- Search for Mosyle Manager and open the application.
- Select Self Service.
- Navigate to My Apps.
- Find APP-Zoho Unattended.
- Click Install.
- Wait for the installation to complete.
After installation, return to Step 2 and enable Screen & System Audio Recording permissions for Zoho.
