How to Get Technology Help

Overview

Plum Borough School District (PBSD) provides several ways for students, staff, and families to get help with technology. Before submitting a support request, we recommend checking the Technology Knowledge Base for a solution to your issue.

Start with Self-Service Support

Many common technology questions can be resolved without submitting a support ticket.

Technology Knowledge Base

Search the  PBSD Technology Knowledge Base  for instructions and solutions to common technology questions.

Technology Department Website

You can also visit the PBSD Technology Department website. In the bottom-left corner of the website, use the Tech Help widget to enter a description of your problem and search for related solution articles.

Tip: Search the Technology Knowledge Base before submitting a ticket. There may already be a step-by-step solution available for your issue.

Support for Parents & Guardians

Parents and guardians can request Technology Support by emailing  techsupport@pbsd.net .

Technology Support can assist families with issues including:

  • One-to-one program issues
  • Device filtering concerns
  • Technical support for student devices

What to Include in Your Request

Please include:

  • A detailed description of the problem, including the device, browser, or application involved
  • Student's full name
  • Student's school building
  • Parent or guardian name and contact information

Support for Staff

Staff members should submit a Technology Support ticket by emailing  techsupport@pbsd.net .

What to Include in Your Request

  • Building where the issue is occurring
  • A detailed description of the problem
  • Information about the affected device or application

Support for Students

Students can request Technology Support by emailing  techsupport@pbsd.net  from their school-issued email account.

What to Include in Your Request

  • School building
  • Grade level
  • A detailed description of the technology problem
  • Information about the affected device or application

Students in Grades K–4: A parent or guardian may submit a Technology Support request on behalf of the student using the parent/guardian instructions above.

Help Us Resolve Your Issue Faster

Providing detailed information when you first contact Technology Support can help us identify and resolve the issue more efficiently. When applicable, include:

  • The device experiencing the problem
  • The application or website involved
  • Any error message displayed
  • What you were attempting to do when the problem occurred
  • Steps you have already tried

Privacy & Identity Verification: To protect student, staff, and district information, Technology Support may request additional information to verify your identity if the contact information provided does not match district records.
