Promethean – Using a Whiteboard

Overview

PBSD teachers have access to Explain Everything Whiteboard through the district's Promethean Resources bookmarks.

Explain Everything provides a digital whiteboard that can be used for classroom instruction, demonstrations, brainstorming, and interactive activities.

Teachers using some existing Promethean boards may also have access to a built-in Promethean Whiteboard.

Explain Everything Whiteboard

PBSD provides access to Explain Everything Whiteboard through the district's Promethean bookmarks.

How to Access Explain Everything

Open Google Chrome.
Select the PBSD.net Bookmarks folder.
Select Promethean Resources.
Select Explain Everything Whiteboard.

ActivPanel 10 Users: Explain Everything Whiteboard can be accessed from Google Chrome on the Chromebox through PBSD.net Bookmarks → Promethean Resources → Explain Everything Whiteboard.

Using the Whiteboard

You can use Explain Everything Whiteboard for:

Classroom notes
Drawing
Brainstorming
Classroom demonstrations
Working through math problems
Student interaction

Tip: If you regularly use Explain Everything, consider keeping the Promethean Resources bookmark easily accessible so you can quickly open a whiteboard during instruction.

Existing Promethean Boards

Some existing PBSD Promethean boards may also provide a built-in Whiteboard application.

If you prefer the traditional Promethean board environment, you may continue using the built-in Whiteboard where it is available.

Not Sure Which Whiteboard to Use? Teachers using an ActivPanel 10 can use Explain Everything Whiteboard through the Chromebox. Teachers with an existing Promethean board may also use the board's built-in Whiteboard when available.

If you cannot locate Explain Everything Whiteboard, the Promethean Resources bookmarks, or the built-in Whiteboard on your Promethean board, contact PBSD Technology Support at techsupport@pbsd.net .
