Khan Academy (Khanmigo) – Teachers & Students

Overview

Plum Borough School District provides Khan Academy and Khanmigo access for eligible 7th and 8th grade Math teachers and students.

Khan Academy provides instructional content, practice exercises, videos, assessments, and other learning resources. Khanmigo provides AI-powered tools that can support teaching and learning.

Important: PBSD no longer uses Clever to access or roster Khan Academy. Eligible teachers must request access from the Technology Department and then import their classes from Google Classroom.

Teacher Access Process

Teachers who teach eligible 7th or 8th grade Math courses must request access before using the district's Khan Academy/Khanmigo license.

  1. Email  techsupport@pbsd.net  to submit a Technology Support ticket requesting access to Khan Academy (Khanmigo).
  2. Technology will review the request and send an invitation to the eligible teacher.
  3. Open the Khan Academy invitation and follow the prompts to accept it.
  4. After accepting the invitation, sign in to Khan Academy and access your teacher dashboard.

Access Requirement: District Khan Academy/Khanmigo access is intended for eligible teachers and students in 7th and 8th grade Math.

Add Your Classes

After your Khan Academy access has been activated, you will need to add your classes and students.

  1. Sign in to Khan Academy.
  2. Open your Dashboard.
  3. Select My Classes.
  4. Select Add Class.
  5. Choose the option to import your class from Google Classroom.
  6. Follow the prompts to select and import the appropriate Google Classroom class roster.

Tip: Make sure your Google Classroom roster is accurate before importing the class into Khan Academy.

After receiving access, teachers should review Khan Academy's setup instructions for additional information about configuring classes and students.

Student Access

Students are connected to Khan Academy through the classes established by their teacher.

Teachers should first import the appropriate Google Classroom class into Khan Academy and complete the class and student setup process.

Students: Do not use Clever to access Khan Academy. Follow the Khan Academy access instructions provided by your teacher after your class has been set up.

Common Issues

Teacher Does Not Have Access

  • Confirm that you teach an eligible 7th or 8th grade Math course.
  • Submit a Technology Support ticket requesting Khan Academy/Khanmigo access.
  • Check your email for the Khan Academy invitation sent after Technology processes your request.
  • Make sure you have accepted the invitation before attempting to set up your classes.

Class or Student Is Missing

  • Verify that the student appears in the correct Google Classroom.
  • Confirm that you imported the correct Google Classroom into Khan Academy.
  • Review the Khan Academy class and student setup resources above.

Trying to Access Khan Academy Through Clever

PBSD no longer uses Clever for Khan Academy access. Teachers should use the invitation provided after requesting access from Technology and use Google Classroom for class roster setup.
