Overview
Nearpod is a district-provided digital learning platform available for all K–12 teachers at Plum Borough School District. Nearpod allows teachers to create and assign interactive lessons and activities for students.
Nearpod is licensed and managed through Clever, allowing teachers and students to access the platform using their PBSD accounts. Nearpod also integrates with Google Classroom to make it easier for teachers to distribute assignments and for students to access assigned activities.

How to Access
- Go to the PBSD Clever Portal .
- Select Log in with Google.
- Sign in using your PBSD Google account if prompted.
- After signing in, scroll through the applications available on your Clever dashboard until you locate Nearpod.
- Select the Nearpod icon to access the application.
Login Information: Teachers and students should access Nearpod through the PBSD Clever Portal using their PBSD Google account.
Teacher Access
Nearpod is available to PBSD K–12 teachers. Teachers should launch Nearpod through Clever and can then use the platform to create, manage, and assign interactive lessons and activities.
- Sign in to the PBSD Clever Portal.
- Locate and select Nearpod.
- Use Nearpod to create or access interactive lessons and activities.
- Assign Nearpod activities to students as appropriate.
Student Access
Students can access Nearpod through the PBSD Clever Portal. Students may also receive Nearpod assignments directly from their teacher through Google Classroom.
Accessing a Nearpod Assignment from Google Classroom
- Sign in to Google Classroom using your PBSD Google account.
- Open the assignment provided by your teacher.
- Select the Nearpod assignment link.
- The link will open Nearpod and automatically sign you in.
Tip: Students who receive a Nearpod assignment through Google Classroom can select the assignment link directly. Nearpod will automatically sign them in using their district account.
Google Classroom Integration
Nearpod integrates with Google Classroom to make assignment distribution and student access easier. Teachers can provide Nearpod activities through Google Classroom, allowing students to access assigned lessons directly from their classroom.
Student Access: When students select a Nearpod assignment link provided through Google Classroom, they should be automatically signed in to Nearpod.
Finding Nearpod in Clever
After signing in to Clever, scroll through the applications available on your dashboard and locate the Nearpod icon.
Select the Nearpod icon to launch the application.
Tip: Teachers should launch Nearpod through the PBSD Clever Portal to ensure they are using the correct district account.
Common Issues
Nearpod Does Not Appear in Clever
- Verify that you are signed in to Clever using your PBSD Google account.
- Scroll through all applications available on your Clever dashboard.
- If Nearpod is still not available, contact Technology Support.
Unable to Access Nearpod
- Verify that you are using your PBSD Google account.
- Sign out of Clever and close your browser.
- Reopen the PBSD Clever Portal and sign in again.
- Launch Nearpod from the Clever dashboard.
Student Cannot Open a Google Classroom Assignment
- Verify that the student is signed in using their PBSD Google account.
- Have the student open the assignment directly from Google Classroom.
- If the assignment still does not open correctly, have the student sign in to Clever and launch Nearpod before trying the assignment again.
Important: Access to Nearpod may depend on the classes, courses, or application access assigned to your account.
