1. Test in Camera App
Search for the Camera app in your app drawer (type "Camera" in the search bar).
Open the Camera app and see if the camera works there.
2. Check Hardware Settings
Click on the status area (bottom-right corner) where your account picture is.
Select the gear icon to open Settings.
Scroll to Privacy and Security and then Privacy Controls to ensure camera and microphone are allowed.
3. Check for Updates
Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for Updates. If there’s an update available, install it. Software updates often resolve issues with drivers and hardware compatibility.
4. Restart Chromebook
A simple restart can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues. Close all apps and power off the Chromebook completely. Turn it back on and check if the camera and mic work.
