Savvas – Teachers & Students

Overview

Savvas is a digital curriculum platform available to Plum Borough School District teachers and students. PBSD uses Clever for Savvas Single Sign-On (SSO) and district rostering.

PBSD also uses the Savvas Google Classroom integration. This allows teachers to connect their Savvas classes with Google Classroom, post Savvas assignments to Google Classroom, and provide students with direct access to assigned Savvas content.

Current PBSD Configuration: Clever continues to provide Savvas rostering and Single Sign-On. Google Classroom integration is also enabled so teachers can connect classes and distribute Savvas assignments through Google Classroom.

Teacher Login

Teachers should access Savvas through the PBSD Clever Portal.

Go to the PBSD Clever Portal .
Select Log in with Google.
Sign in using your PBSD Google account if prompted.
Locate the Savvas application on your Clever dashboard.
Select the Savvas icon.
Savvas Realize will open in a new browser tab.

Tip: Teachers should continue launching Savvas through Clever to ensure they are accessing their district account and Clever-rostered classes.

Connecting Savvas with Google Classroom

Google Classroom integration is enabled for PBSD Savvas users. Teachers can use this integration to connect Savvas classes with Google Classroom and distribute Savvas assignments to students.

After signing in to Savvas through Clever:

From Home or Classes, select Set Up a Class.
Savvas will display the class setup options available for your account.
Teachers may have the option to import a class from Google Classroom.
Teachers with an existing auto-rostered class may have the option to link the auto-rostered Savvas class to a Google Classroom class.
Follow the prompts in Savvas to complete the Google Classroom connection.

Important: Class setup options may vary based on the Savvas configuration for your account. If you already have an auto-rostered Savvas class, use the available option to link that class to the appropriate Google Classroom when applicable.

Posting Savvas Assignments to Google Classroom

Once your Savvas class is connected with Google Classroom, you can use the integration to distribute Savvas content and assignments through Google Classroom.

Students can then open the assignment from their Google Classroom class and launch the associated Savvas content.

Student Access

Students can access Savvas through Clever and can also launch Savvas assignments that their teacher posts through Google Classroom.

Accessing a Savvas Assignment from Google Classroom

Open Google Classroom.
Make sure you are signed in using your PBSD school Google account.
Open the appropriate Google Classroom class.
Locate the Savvas assignment posted by your teacher.
Select the assignment link to access the associated Savvas content.

Students: When accessing a Savvas assignment from Google Classroom, make sure you are signed in with your PBSD school Google account.

Common Issues

Unable to Access Savvas Through Clever

Verify that you are signed in to Clever using your PBSD Google account.
Make sure you are launching Savvas from the PBSD Clever Portal.
Close your browser, reopen Clever, and try launching Savvas again.
If Savvas does not appear on your Clever dashboard, contact Technology Support.

Student Cannot Open a Savvas Assignment from Google Classroom

Verify that the student is signed in with their PBSD school Google account.
Confirm that the student has joined the correct Google Classroom class.
Verify that the teacher's Savvas class is properly connected with the appropriate Google Classroom.
Try launching Savvas through Clever before opening the Google Classroom assignment again.
If the issue continues, contact Technology Support.

Class or Students Are Missing

Verify that you are accessing Savvas through the PBSD Clever Portal.
Confirm that the correct class is available in Savvas.
If using Google Classroom integration, verify that the correct Google Classroom class has been imported or linked.
If expected students or classes are still missing, contact Technology Support.
